We are currently seeking skilled hardware writers to join our team. If you have an insatiable passion for benchmarks, PC building, monitors, and can translate that passion into exceptional writing, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing various hardware, with a focus on prebuilt gaming PCs, monitors, and gaming chairs.
- Acquiring products for review independently.
- Producing coherent and well-written coverage of the devices under test. While we prefer objective and distanced technical writing, the flow of the piece should be sufficient to engage readers.
- Conducting product benchmarking and generating objective metrics for comparing and reviewing competing devices.
- Creating comprehensive how-to guides on PC gaming hardware and peripherals, catering to all levels of knowledge, from basic concepts like monitor response time to advanced topics like overclocking.
Who We’re Looking For:
Ideally, you have a background in journalism and possess excellent writing skills. A strong understanding of the technology industry, particularly PC components and peripherals, is crucial.
If you have established a reputation in this industry and have connections with major brands like ASUS and Ryzen, you would be the ideal candidate for this position.
Experience and enthusiasm for producing video content is also highly valued.
You should be a confident reviewer of PCs and PC hardware, with expert knowledge of the hardware market space, including vendors, retailers, and price points. Your writing should demonstrate your ability to explain complex subjects clearly and concisely.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Professional writing experience, preferably with writing samples related to hardware or technology. Can you make overclocking or explain the differences between TN and IPS panels in an engaging manner for non-enthusiasts?
- Technical proficiency. While you don’t need a computer engineering degree, we expect our contributors to possess excellent knowledge of the components they cover.
- Reliability. Can you work independently, anticipate the needs of our readers, and consistently meet deadlines?
Pay Rates:
Compensation will be based on a per-article basis and is negotiable.
